Who we are
BingeDen is a watch-party social network at bingeden.com (“BingeDen”, “we”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Account info — your display name and email address, and (for password accounts) a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google or another provider, we receive your name, email, and avatar from them.
- Your activity — what shows/movies/events you mark as watching and where you are in them, your posts and reactions, season/series remarks, groups, watch parties, and friend connections.
- Technical data — basic request/log data (e.g. IP, timestamps) needed to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- To run the core product — spoiler-safe feeds, groups, parties, recommendations, and profiles.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure (including password-reset emails).
- To moderate spoilers and abuse, and to suggest shows and people that match your taste.
Service providers we share with
We use trusted processors to operate BingeDen: Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, and transactional email via SES), your chosen sign-in provider (e.g. Google) for authentication, TMDB for show/movie metadata, LiveKit for voice rooms, and Anthropic for AI spoiler-moderation of reported posts. They process data only to provide their service to us.
What other users see
Your display name, avatar, profile, remarks, and posts are visible to other users according to where you post (public, group, or party). Your email and password are never shown to other users.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We don’t use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your choices & rights
You can edit your progress and remarks anytime, leave groups/parties, and request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data.
Data retention & security
We keep your data while your account is active and delete or anonymize it on request. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; data is hosted on AWS with access controls.
Children
BingeDen isn’t directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
